Abstract
An electric cable () is disclosed comprising a) at least one cable core () comprising at least one power transmissive insulated element (); and b) a metallic outer armor () containing the cable core (); wherein the outer armor () comprises a carbon steel tape () wound according to helical interlocked windings, the tape () being coated with an aluminum coating layer () having a thickness equal to or lower than 50 μm. Furthermore, a process for manufacturing such an electric cable is disclosed.
