Abstract
The invention relates to a method for estimating a distance (d) between a vehicle () fitted with a first wireless communication module () and an identifier () fitted with a second wireless communication module (), including the following steps: generating a randomly ordered list; receiving, by at least one of the first and second wireless communication modules (), electromagnetic signals having a frequency that changes consecutively from among a plurality of frequencies in accordance with said list; for each frequency in the plurality of frequencies, measuring a reception phase of the electromagnetic signal having the relevant frequency; estimating said distance (d) on the basis of the measured phases. An electronic unit () for a vehicle () is also described.
