Abstract

A display device includes a display, a reception unit, a power supply unit, and a controller. The reception unit receives data to be displayed on the display. The power supply unit supplies power to the reception unit. The controller controls whether or not to permit the data to be displayed on the display, based on an instruction for power supply to the reception unit from the power supply unit.
