Abstract
To provide a sealing structure with an annular pocket and a sealing apparatus that can efficiently reduce exposure of a seal lip of the sealing apparatus to foreign matter entering from the outside. In a sealing structure () with a torsional damper and an oil seal, a hub pocket () has an outer circumferential surface () in an annular shape centered about an axis x that extends along the axis x and is formed in an outer shell part () that is opposed to a shaft member on an outer periphery side, a dust discharging hole () or a dust discharging groove () connected to the hub pocket () is formed in the outer shell part (), and the dust discharging hole () or the dust discharging groove () is inclined at a predetermined angle in such a manner that a discharge opening (out) is directed in an opposite direction to a rotational direction of the shaft member.
