Abstract

A system and method includes selecting an optimal geographic location of a WLAN AP via execution of code instructions of a WLAN AP base transceiver location optimization system to determine a first weighted potential interference between the WLAN AP and each of a plurality of neighboring base transceiver systems, associated with a WLAN AP operating at a first geographic location and determine a second weighted potential interference between the WLAN AP and each of a plurality of neighboring base transceiver systems, associated with the WLAN AP operating at a second geographic location that is a candidate optimal geographic location, wherein the determination of the first or second weighted potential interference is based on a spatial-temporal radio frequency profile for a plurality of wireless links operating on the WLAN AP and neighboring base transceiver systems, and if the second weighted potential interference is lesser than the first weighted potential interference, defining the second geographic location as the optimal geographic location of the WLAN AP and determining and displaying the direction of the optimal geographic location from the first geographic location.
