Abstract
Methods and apparati for permitting Computing Devicesto safely accept Payloadsfrom External Access Entity Devices, and to safely access external Networks. In an apparatus embodiment, a Computing Devicecontains an Access Control Modulecomprising an Access Verification Public Keyand a Device Signature Key. The Access Control Moduleis configured to verify authorization of an External Access Payloadby verifying a digital signature affixed to the Payloadusing the Access Verification Public Key. The authorized External Access Payloadis then permitted to execute on the Computing Device. The Access Control Moduleis also configured to receive from a Network Access Deviceinformation associated with a Networkaccess request, and to create a plurality of digital signatures, using the Device Signature Key, that link said information associated with the Networkaccess request with the Access Verification Public Key. In some embodiments, an encryption/decryption key pairis associated with External Access Entity Deviceto further enhance security.
