Abstract
System and method for generating discrete dithering sequences DSfor marine seismic sources Sin a marine acquisition system. The method includes determining a number N of the seismic sources Sto be fired; calculating a dithering sequence DSfor each source Ssuch that when any two consecutive source activation Sand S, where l=k+1, are selected, a combination DSof their dithering sequences DSand DSis a uniform random low-discrepancy sequence; and driving each source Swith the corresponding dithering sequence DSto generate blended seismic data.
