Abstract

According to the present invention, there are provided a film forming composition, which contains a polymer having a repeating unit represented by General Formula (I) and a curable compound, an optical film having a film formed of the composition, a hardcoat film, a polarizing plate, and a method for manufacturing a hydrophilized hardcoat film. In General Formula (I), Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, L represents an ester bond, an ether bond, a phenylene group, or an amide bond, Rand Reach independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or a halogenated alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or a substituent.
