Abstract

A laundry machine () having cabinet () housing a chamber () for treating laundry having a rotation axis (RR), a porthole () for providing access to and tightly closing the chamber (), a hinge () to pivot the porthole () to the cabinet (), an electromechanical lock () having a first member () on the porthole () and a matching member () on the cabinet (), and a grip-only handle (). The porthole () has at least one frame (), and a glass () secured to the at least one frame (). The electromechanical lock () is configured to be released by applying a force beyond a threshold onto the porthole () away from the cabinet (). The grip-only handle () and the first member () of the electromechanical lock () may be arranged in such a way that, when the porthole () is closed, the center of mass of the grip-only handle () and the center of mass of the first member () of the electromechanical lock () are located, with respect to the rotation axis (RR), at different angular positions. The grip-only handle () may be configured to be alternatively positionable in one of at least two prefixed positions with respect to the frame assembly.
