Abstract
The present invention refers to a device and a method for measuring isolation resistance of a battery powered systems. The device comprises: a first reference resistance (R) connectable in series between a positive high-voltage bus () and a low-voltage ground connection (), a second reference resistance (R) connectable in series between the negative high-voltage bus () and the a low-voltage ground connection (), a first measurement resistance (Rbottom) connected with the low-voltage ground connection (), a second measurement resistance (Rtop) connectable in series between the positive high-voltage bus (), and the first measurement resistance (Rbottom), and a third measurement resistance (Rtop) connectable in series between the negative high-voltage bus (), and the first measurement resistance (Rbottom). Isolation resistances (Riso_pos, Riso_neg) are calculated based on voltage measurements at the first measurement resistance (Rbottom), and the mean value of the four high-voltage battery voltage measurements.
