Abstract
In a method for recharging an electrical energy storage device of a hybrid vehicle, the hybrid vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, first and second electric machines, and a drive shaft, the internal combustion engine and the first electric machine are directly mechanically coupled, the second electric machine and the drive shaft are directly mechanically coupled, and the internal combustion engine and the drive shaft are variably mechanically coupled by a gear device. A drive unit for a hybrid vehicle includes an electrical energy storage device, an internal combustion engine, first and second electric machines, and a drive shaft, wherein the internal combustion engine and the first electric machine are directly mechanically coupled, the second electric machine and the drive shaft are directly mechanically coupled, and the internal combustion engine and the drive shaft are variably mechanically coupled by a gear device.
