Abstract
A mobile communication system includes a base station, and mobile stations that communicate with the base station. At least one of the base station and the mobile stations includes a number-of-carriers switching unit. The switching units switches, on the basis of a communication state, a ratio of numbers of carriers for downlink communication and uplink communication, by dividing a band of a carrier.
