Abstract
An active matrix substrate is provided that includes: a plurality of source lines (data lines)S; a plurality of lines that intersect with the source linesS, and include at least a plurality of gate linesG; a gate driver (driving circuit)that includes a plurality of switching elements, and are connected to at least a part of the lines, so as to control potentials of the lines according to a control signal; and a plurality of pixel control elementsT that are provided in correspondence to a plurality of pixels that compose a display region, and are connected with the data linesS and the gate linesG, so as to control display of the corresponding pixels, respectively. Either the data linesS or the gate linesG are vertical lines while the others are horizontal lines, and intervals of the horizontal lines are irregular intervals. At least a part of the switching elementsare arranged in areas that are between the pixels adjacent in the vertical direction, and where none of the pixel control elementsT is arranged.
