A device () for bracing a battery module () which comprises a multiplicity of battery cells (), characterized by: a first clamping plate () for the positioning of the battery cells (), a cooler () which is between the first clamping plate () and the battery cells (), and a brace () which is configured so as to brace the first clamping plate () and the battery cells () against one another.
