Abstract

A conveying device () is specified, having two frame profiles () and a conveying roller (), arranged in between, with a drive motor () and a brake (). The drive motor (), located closer to the first frame profile (), is connected in this case to a power supply bus () positioned on the first frame profile (), and the brake (), located closer to the second frame profile (), is connected to a power supply bus () positioned on the second frame profile (). In an operating method for the conveying roller (), the drive motor ()/the brake () are operated with a first voltage (U) and associated electronic controllers () are operated with a second, lower voltage (U). In addition, the brake () is completely released/ventilated only with a time delay after the application of an electric voltage to the drive motor () for the purpose of starting up the conveying roller ().
