Abstract

A clot retrieval devicefor removing occlusive clot from a blood vessel, the device comprises an inner elongate bodyhaving a collapsed delivery configuration and an expanded deployed configuration and an outer elongate bodyat least partially overlying the inner elongate body. The outer elongate bodyis expandable to a radial extent which is greater than the radial extent of the inner bodyin the deployed configuration to define a clot reception space. The outer elongate bodycomprises a distal end portionand the inner elongate bodycomprises a main body portionand a distal portion which extends in the deployed configuration towards the outer elongate bodyto a greater extent than the main body portion. The distal portionof the inner elongate memberand the distal end portionof the outer elongate bodytogether define a three dimensional protective structure to substantially prevent distal egress of clot or clot fragments from the device.
