Abstract

A fan has an electronically commutated external-rotor motor serving to drive it. The motor has an internal stator () having a stator lamination stack () and a winding arrangement () associated with the stack. The internal stator has a central opening () for journaling a shaft (). The fan further has a permanent-magnet rotor () separated from the internal stator () by a magnetically effective air gap (). The internal stator () has a plastic coating () that surrounds the stator windings, forms a bearing tube for journaling the shaft (), and defines a wall element (), implemented integrally with the plastic coating (), forming a compartment or cavity () for electrical components () of the motor. The plastic coating, bearing tube and compartment are preferably molded in a single working step.
