A large lumen guide catheter () has an elongate tubular body (), which has an outer surface (), an inner surface (), and a braided wire layer between the inner surface and the outer surface, wherein the wires winding a first helical direction are thicker and wider than the wire winding in a second helical direction opposite the first helical direction.
