Abstract

Provided is a hydrogen generating apparatus adaptable to fluctuating hydrogen demand, particularly by enabling large-scale hydrogen production, generating pure hydrogen at a high yield. The hydrogen generating apparatusincludes a tabular dielectric bodyhaving a first surfacewith a source gas flow channelformed as a recess and a second surfaceapproximately parallel to the first surface, a grounding electrode, a hydrogen flow channel platewith a hydrogen flow channeland a hydrogen outlet, being arranged on a first surfaceside of dielectric body, a hydrogen separation membranebetween source gas flow channeland hydrogen flow channel, and a high-voltage power supplythat causes electric discharge in source gas flow channelbetween hydrogen separation membraneand grounding electrode. Hydrogen separation membranetransmits hydrogen generated by electric discharge in source gas flow channelinto hydrogen flow channel
