Abstract
A renal failure therapy system () includes: a dialyzer (); a blood circuit () including a blood pump () in fluid communication with the dialyzer (); a dialysis circuit () in fluid communication with the dialyzer (); and at least one flow path insulator () located in the dialysis circuit () or the blood circuit (), the flow path insulator () including a structure that separates liquid flowing within the flow path insulator () into a plurality (e.g., two or more) of separated liquid segments () that create electrical isolation within the flow path insulator ().
