Abstract
A controller () to reduce integral non-linearity errors of a magnetic rotary encoder () comprises a position error determining unit () to determine a plurality of time marks (P, . . . , Pk) specifying a respective time at which a moving device () reaches a respective one of predefined positions (α, . . . , αk). The position error determining unit () calculates a plurality of error correction parameters (B[], . . . , B[k]) in dependence on the time marks (P, . . . , Pk). An error compensation unit () of the controller determines a respective error compensated position parameter (φ_comp, φ_comp, . . . , φn_comp) for each position parameter (φ, . . . , φn) received from the encoder () in dependence on the respective position parameter (φ, . . . , φn) and the respective error correction parameter (B[], . . . , B[k]).
