Abstract
An optical connectoris an optical connector connected to an external optical adapter. The optical connectoris provided with: an inner housing, in a surface of which engaging holes for engaging the optical adapter is provided; a bootconnected to the inner housingon a side opposite the optical adapter in a forward/backward direction; and a first outer housingand a second outer housingcovering the engaging holes and mounted on the inner housingto be freely movable in the forward/backward direction. As the second outer housingmoves backward, the engaging holes of the inner housingare exposed. The second outer housinghas cutout partswhich are cut out from a back end surfacein the forward direction and which a front end part of the bootenters.
