Abstract

A technology of preventing feeling of a viewer on brightness from significantly changing when content is switched is provided. A video display device () includes a calculation unit () that calculates video feature relating to a display video, and a mute video display unit that displays a mute video posterior to a first display video, in which luminance of the mute video is luminance corresponding to a value of the video feature relating to the first display video.
