Abstract
The invention relates to a method for operating an eye tracking device () comprising as components an imaging device (), an illumination unit () and a processing unit () and further at least two adjustment parameters (P), for adjusting the components (). The eye tracking device () comprises a control unit () for controlling the adjustment parameters (P). According to the method an image () of an eye is captured, a condition () with respect to a quality related to eye tracking or a power consumption of the components () is set, a predefined correlation () correlating the adjustment parameters (P) to the quality and the power consumption is provided and the control unit () controls the adjustment parameters (P) according to the predefined correlation (), so that the element, with respect to which the condition () was set, fulfils the condition ().
