Abstract

A nucleator nozzle () for producing ice nuclei is designed as convergent-divergent nozzle. The nozzle channel () has a section () that is widening. The ratio of the cross-sectional area of the outlet opening () to the cross-sectional area of the nozzle channel () in the region of the nucleus diameter () is at least approximately 4:1. A snow lance () having at least one nucleator nozzle () and having at least one water nozzle (') is designed such that water droplets () produced by the water nozzle (′) pass through a droplet path (′) of at least 20 cm until they reach ice nuclei () from the nucleator nozzle () in a germination zone E.
