Abstract
A method and an apparatus () for filtering and separating flow medium () by means of membranes (), in a substantially pressuretight housing (), at least one inlet () for the flow medium () to be separated, and at least one outlet () for permeate () discharge and an outlet () for discharged retentate (), is described. The membranes () being embodied as membrane cushions, which have an opening region () for emergence of permeate () collecting in the membrane interior (). Various partial sets of the set of membranes (), which form a membrane stack (), utilize different separation techniques based on the flow medium () so that a respective partial set are each operated with a predetermined, different pressure of the medium () to be separated or with a different vacuum on the permeate side of the membranes ().
