Abstract
A surface-mountable socket has a wiping function. A socketof the present technology can be surface-mounted to a board. The socketincludes a plurality of contacts, and each contactincludes a contact portionthat can contact a terminal of a semiconductor device, a locking portionconnected to the contact portion, and a board-side contact portionthat extends from the locking portionand can contact a conductive region formed on a board surface. The socketfurther includes a stopper memberthat holds the locking portionof the plurality of contactsand a guide memberthat is disposed so as to oppose the stopper member, and the guide memberis formed with a plurality of through holesthat houses a board-side contactprotruding from the stopper member.
