Abstract

A catalyst obtained by first preparing a cermet material with the general formula ABO, wherein A is selected from the group consisting of Co, Cu, Ni, Ti, and combinations thereof, wherein B is selected from the group consisting of Mo, W, Ce, and combinations thereof, wherein A and B are different elements, and wherein x is a nonzero number ranging from 3 to 7 and represents the moles of O. Next, the cermet is activated in a reducing atmosphere to yield metal particles dispersed within and/or on the cermet.
