Abstract
A method of forming a threshold drainis disclosed. The drainextends alongside an exterior wallof a building and is formed in an exterior surface. The building has an interior floorwith the exterior surfaceand the interior floorbeing substantially flush to permit traymobile, wheelchair and invalid access. In a single concrete pour, the drain gutter, exterior surface, interior floorand a gutterare all formed. The gutter has an exterior side wallwhich supports a plurality of triangular cantilever arms. A support framehaving two longitudinally extending rimsis supported by the armsand releasably receives a gratebetween the rims. The inner rimis spaced from the wallof the building, preferably by 10-12 mm (⅜-½ inch), so as to provide a barrier to moisture in accordance with the Building Code of New Zealand standard set out in Clause E2 External Moisture. The drainis also disclosed.
