Abstract
A surgical stapling apparatus () having an adjustable minimum tissue gap (G) is provided. The surgical stapling apparatus () includes a proximal handle portion (), an elongated central body portion (), a distal head portion (), an anvil assembly (), and an approximation assembly (). The approximation assembly () includes a drive screw (), a screw stop (), and a screw extension (). The adjustable minimum tissue gap (G) can be adjusted by selectively securing the screw extension () to the drive screw () using a first or second pair of openings () of the drive screw (). A method is also provided to determine the minimum tissue gap (G) of the surgical stapling apparatus ().
