Abstract
An ECUcalculates a target temperature of a bed temperature of a DOCunder PM regeneration control at each control period by the elements Mto M. Among these elements, the estimating section Mestimates a passing SOamount at each control period by using an inflow SOx amount and a representative temperature. The estimating section Mestimates a SOreduction rate, which is a ratio of reduction from SOto SOin the DOC. Then, the calculating unit Mcalculates an amount of SOthat is allowed to desorb from the DOCas an allowable desorption SOamount at each control period, by using a constrained SOamount which corresponds to a constraint concerning sulfate white smoke, the passing SOamount, and the SOreduction rate.
