Abstract

Disclosed is a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) apparatus with a spirally extended monopole antenna structure whereby magnetic field homogeneity is improved. The apparatus includes: a cylinder body; a plurality of monopole antennas forming an array, the antenna being spirally arranged along a surface of the cylinder bodyat a predetermined inclination angle relative to a central axis of the cylinder body; a ground platein which ends of the monopole antennas are arranged on one surface of the ground platein a circular arrangement; and a plurality of coaxial cablesin which signal lines thereof are respectively connected to the monopole antennas and ground lines thereof are connected to the ground plate
