Abstract
An airbag for a vehicle includes a lower chamber and a confining chamber that confine the upper body of an occupant in a seat such that the upper body of the occupant cannot rotate in a lateral direction in the event of a side vehicle impact. The airbag further includes a protecting chamber coming into contact with the head of the occupant, thereby preventing the head of one occupant from colliding with the head of another occupant. The airbag provides secure protection for an occupant from an impact.
