Abstract

In an image transmission/reception system () including an active cable (), an image transmission device (camera), and an image reception device (grabber), a transmission-side connector () of the active cable () includes a supplying section () for supplying internal information indicative of an internal state of the transmission-side connector () to the image transmission device (), and the image transmission device () includes a superimposing section (MUX) for superimposing the internal information on an image signal which is to be transmitted to the image reception device () via the active cable ().
