Abstract

A coupon processing system may include a point-of-sale (POS) terminal at a retail location. The POS terminal may be configured to communicate instant redeemable coupon (IRC) data associated with a physical IRC for a given product. The coupon processing system may also include a promotions server remote from the retail location and cooperating with the POS terminal to redeem the physical IRC for the given product based upon the IRC data and assign a post-purchase coupon value to a digital wallet associated with a purchaser of the given product based upon redeeming of the physical IRC.
