Abstract
Disclosed are WapA and WapI proteins from, genes that encode the proteins, vectors that express the proteins, and cells constructed to express the proteins. Also disclosed are methods for introducing the vectors into cells, classifying WapA/WapI proteins into functional groups, and determining compatibility of strains expressing WapA/WapI proteins.
