Abstract

A subsea apparatus () is disclosed. The subsea apparatus () comprises a first part () and a second part () rotatably mounted on the first part (). The second part () comprises electrically powered components (). A motor () is mounted on the first part () and configured to drive rotation of the second part () relative to the first part (). The apparatus also comprises a generator () mounted on the second part () such that rotation of the second part () relative to the first part () drives the generator () to generate power for the electrically powered components (). A method of providing power to a rotating part of a subsea apparatus () is also disclosed.
