Abstract

Provided are a fluorescent material with excellent durability, which emits red light, a method of producing the same, and a light emitting device. The fluorescent material is a fluorescent material including a fluoride-containing fluorescent material core comprising Mn, at least one element selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal element and NH, and at least one element selected from the group consisting of a Group 4 element and a Group 14 element in a composition thereof; and at least one of an aluminum hydroxide particle and a calcium hydroxide particle as disposed on a surface of the fluorescent material core.
