Abstract

The invention relates to a monitor device for monitoring the closed or open state of an article, the monitor device being in the form of an electronic circuit comprising a zip closure system comprising two strips, each having fastened thereto a row of elements, referred to as 'teeth' (), which elements are made of electrically conductive material. A slider () is mounted to slide along the strips and is configured, in one direction, to cause the teeth of one row to mesh with the teeth of the other row, and in the other direction, to separate the teeth. A detector-and-signaling device () is connected firstly to at least one of the teeth, referred to as a 'first terminal' (), and secondly to at least one of the other teeth, referred to as a 'second terminal' (). The detector-and-signaling device is configured to detect the state of electrical continuity between the first and second terminals (), and to issue a signal as a function of said detected continuity state. The first terminal () and the second terminal () are spaced apart from each other by at least one tooth (), said at least one tooth having no electrical connection with said terminals when the teeth of the two rows are in the separated state.
