An electrode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery that includes a composite particle that contains a silicon dioxide particle having an average primary particle size of D, a silicon particle having an average primary particle size of D, and a carbon material, where Dis 5 nm or more and 80 nm or less and the ratio D/Dis 0.3 or more and 8 or less.
