Abstract

An electrosurgical instrument is provided for the treatment of tissue, the instrument () comprising an instrument shaft () having a longitudinal axis, a suction lumen () extending at least partially along the instrument shaft, and a chisel electrode () at the distal end of the shaft. The chisel electrode () includes a body portion () at a first angle with respect to the longitudinal axis, and a hook portion () extending from the body portion at a second angle to the longitudinal axis. The chisel electrode () also includes a plurality of apertures () providing a suction lumen through the electrode, there being at least one aperture () in the body portion (), and at least one aperture () in the hook portion ().
