A dental x-ray sensor holderfor securing an x-ray sensorto a holder using suction created between the sensor and a backing plateof the sensor holder. The dental x-ray sensor holder generally includes a bite blockwith a first end and a second end, a backing plateaffixed to or formed contiguously with the second end of the bite block, and an openingto a cavityin the holder, wherein said cavityleads an evacuation chamberfor creating a vacuum between the holder and an X-ray sensor.
