Abstract

A mobile telecommunications network includes: a radio access network having radio means () for wireless communication with a plurality of terminals () registered with the telecommunications network and control means () operable to provide services to the users of the terminals connected thereto, and a core () including a store of policy information () for respective ones of the terminals (), and distribution means operable to provide to the control means associated with one of the terminals the policy information; wherein the control means is operable to store the policy information together with an indicator of the version of the policy information during periods when the terminal is disconnected from the control means, the control means including checking means for checking the currency of the policy using the indicator of the version of the policy and means for applying the stored policy information to the terminal when the terminal re-connects to the control means if the checking means determines that the stored policy is current.
