Abstract

The present invention relates to a Voltage converter () for converting an input voltage (V) to an output voltage (V) comprising an input circuitry () for receiving the input voltage (V) from a power supply (), wherein the input circuitry includes chopper means () for chopping a voltage (V) derived from the input voltage (V) at a chopper frequency to a chopped voltage (V), an inductive transformer unit () for transforming the chopped voltage (V) to a chopped AC voltage (V), and an output circuitry () for converting the chopped AC voltage (V) of the inductive transformer unit () to the output voltage (V) having a lower frequency than the chopper frequency.
