Abstract

A measuring device that makes it possible to improve precision and stability is provided. In a measuring device, a microwave receiving unitis disposed behind a microwave transmitting unitwith respect to a powder object, and the microwave transmitting unitand the microwave receiving unitare each enclosed by a waveguide box. A waveguide boxfor the transmitting unit is smaller than a waveguide boxfor the receiving unit, and is enclosed by the waveguide boxfor the receiving unit. An opening portionof the waveguide boxand an opening portionof the waveguide boxare mounted on a flat window material, and are aligned. The window materialis in contact with the powder object. Microwavestransmitted from the microwave transmitting unitare reflected by the powder object, are received, as scattered microwaves, by the microwave receiving unit, and are measured.
