Abstract
An imaging system comprising: a pair of cameras () adapted to capture images in the near infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum; a camera () adapted to capture images in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum; a near-infrared light source (); and a controller (). The system configured to obtain a plurality images of the face of an individual and, from a local binary pattern distribution of image pixels, determine the age of the individual in each of the images by applying a linear regression technique and computing an average.
