Abstract

A sensor assembly includes an electrically conductive electrode bridge () and a multi-layer, integral sensor body (). The sensor body () includes a core layer (), an outer insulating layer () that substantially surrounds the core layer (), and an electrically conductive electrode layer () between the core layer () and the outer insulating layer (). The sensor body () also includes an electrically conductive electrode interface layer () at a rear part () of the sensor body () and in electrical contact with the electrode layer (). The electrode bridge () is held in compression electrical contact with the electrode interface layer () during use.
