Abstract

An automatic transmission includes hydraulic friction engaging mechanisms for establishing a plurality of gears, at least one control valve for controlling oil pressures of hydraulic oils supplied to the engaging mechanisms, an oil pressure detection unit for detecting the oil pressure of the hydraulic oil supplied by the control valve, a learning unit for learning a correction value of an instructed oil pressure to the control valve such that an engaging time becomes a target engaging time, and a determination unit which determines, based on a difference between the instructed oil pressure to the valve and an oil pressure detection result obtained by the detection unit from the hydraulic oil supplied by the valve in correspondence with the instructed oil pressure, whether to exclude a control result by the instructed oil pressure from a learning target of the learning unit.
