Abstract

In a method, a local coil, and an apparatus for magnetic resonance imaging, an examination subject is situated in a patient receiving area of the apparatus, together with at least one marker element. The apparatus is operated to perform a radio-frequency excitation of the at least one marker element, and to read out magnetic resonance signals that are emitted by the at least one marker element. An image data acquisition scanner of the magnetic resonance apparatus is adjusted using the magnetic resonance signals that have been read out. Magnetic resonance image data are acquired from the subject by operation of the adjusted image data acquisition scanner.
