Abstract
An electrical connector () including a male contact () and a female contact () movable between a non-inserted position, and an inserted position, wherein an electrically conductive insertable portion () of the male contact () is inserted along an insertion axis (D) into a housing () defined by the female contact, the female contact including: an electrically conductive body (), a plurality of strips () protruding axially from the body and angularly distributed around the insertable portion in the inserted position, the strips being electrically conductive and radially flexible, the body and the strips defining the housing, and at least one annular contention member () positioned on radially external faces () of the strips and adapted for exerting a centripetal radial pressure on the strips in the inserted position, the strips having radially internal faces () flattened against the insertable portion in the inserted position.
